Steel Configuration

•  Approximately 250,000 sq. ft. of standard steel configurations (Girders, Diagraphms, Cross Members and Bearings) and box girders over multiple lanes on the NJ Turnpike

Scope of Work

• Abrasive blasting cleaning to NACE No. 2/SSPC SP-10 (Near-White Blasting Cleaning) and the application of an Organic Zinc Rich Epoxy Primer, Epoxy Intermediate and Aliphatic Urethane Finish (Prime Coat, Penetrating Sealer, Intermediate Stripe Coat, Intermediate Full Coat, Finish Coat). Work also included caulking of bearings

• Miscellaneous concrete repairs

• Miscellaneous steel repairs

• Removal and replacement of guardrail

• Cleaning of draingage systems

• Abrasive blast concrete and application of RPM Belgium Matacryl Machine seamless waterproofing membrane

Project Challenges

• Abrasive blasting inside box girders and application of five coat system (confined space)

• Rigging platforms and containment over CSX RR, Conrail RR, and M&E RR

• Rigging platform with 12 inch clearance over steam, oil, water and other gas supply pipelines in the Bayway refinery
